After 2 years of thinking to buy a 993 i finally took the decision and I exchanged my 981 s with a 993 1995 tiptronic with RS suspension and spoilers smile
The car apart from its cobra immobilizer it has a separate FOB that just unlocks the doors.. I am attaching the photo of it..

I dont think its a porsche FOB and I dont think 993 had fobs that only unlocks doors. I am pretty sure this is not standard and is something similar as the one that is sold from this website : http://www.bergvillfx.com/index.php/products/t-loc...

Unfortunately I only bought the car with one FOB which is not in a very good condition .Can someone help me whether i can get a 2nd new FOB from EBAY and reprogram it based on the one that i have already?
thaanks so much!

Personally I'd use this problem as an opportunity - to replace the alarm with something modern.

Anything with a recent date on the Thatcham listings.

Ask for local recommendations for a good alarm fitter, but then check what specific alarms they are offering.

I would imagine that, as your Cobra is not OE, and it looks rather old and will therefore have dropped-off the Thatcham approved list, that your insurance won't cover you for theft at the moment anyway.

It is listed on page 33, so you may be ok - obviously check with your insurer.

Also check that you don't have to have an alarm, because it isn't.

Yes they did - but they won't supply anything connected to the Cobra. I'm sure they'd be happy to charge you lots of money to fit an OE 1990's designed alarm if that's what's important to you.
