everything will be worth less, including all our sterling and investments

maybe more cars will get exported given weakness of the pound

who really knows? Time to head for the hills....

Even more never ending threads on how the ditherers who never buy cars anyway will now wait just a bit longer for that inevitable price crash but actually leave it too long until prices suddenly shoot up and they are so pissed of at being unfairly priced out of the market which caught them on the hop.

Good to hear.

Question is, will there be the similar bargains to 2008 09? And if so will prices recover similar to then?

Up to now the top end of the car market seems to has been acting as a safe-haven asset class. Arguably now more than ever this is likely to be the case. The next step for UK interest rates is likely to be down, and stock market prospects are uncertain......
Any car for sale in the UK that is desirable to any overseas market has just become a whole lot cheaper, so I would expect the export market will pick up. "Ordinary" RHD cars that have been pushed up with the market may struggle.

Here you go, this sold for £680,000 not bad for a basket case...

who knows. Certainly interesting times ahead that's for sure. What I can predict with certainty is I will be racing my 65 LHD car regardless of whether the arse falls out of the market or not. I bought it to use and enjoy.

Dont mind the market "readjusting" itself...cars will still sell just at a lower price, no bad thing for the enthusiast

We generally buy cars, new or old, when we 'feel good' and optimistic about the future. That confidence may have taken a knock and, as we roll towards autumn and winter, I can see buyer enthusiasm diminishing and more sales struggling.
