Hi
I am looking for any useful hints with looking after my 911 this winter. The car is stored in a large garage and covered with a soft indoor cover when not used, the garage is cold so was wondering if anybody has any advice or tips to keep it at its best, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to buy a heater and have it set on a timer or cover it with an outdoor cover or just leave it as it is, thanks

This is a car we're talking about, right? ;-)

Seriously though, i do the same - indoor cover, garaged. I think it's sufficient. driving

if you're storing it for a good few months........

1. clean & wax exterior
2. add stabil to the fuel tank
3. over-pump all tyres to something like 46psi (assuming 17")
4. disconnect battery
5. pull dme relay
6. plug exhaust(s) with something (anti-rodent precuaution)
7. SORN online & you might get a bit of money back

my example is assuming the OP doesnt have a power source. obvs if he's got one then ctek is preferential over battery disconnect

Is this stuff any good, have toyed with the idea of using it previously.

I try to use the car every couple of weeks or so but was worried about the interior getting damp or condensation dropping onto the car cover, started it yesterday for the first time in three weeks and it only just fired up and there was smoke from the exhaust which I hope was condensation, love the car so want to keep it at its best. Cheers guys

Defo Mike - main thing will be keeping that battery trickled as that's the one thing that will get knackered thru standing. I plug mine in overnight once every 2-3 weeks if the car hasn't had a good run (which is also advisable to keep things in good running order). In addition to a top up wax after washing, always ensure your brakes are nice and dry/warm before laying up (even tho this may mean going out for a run and potentially spoiling your nice clean finish!)
