Been looking at a few 2.7 911,s year 1975/6 .These don’t seem to going for as much as other years. Am I missing something regarding this model.
They seem to be a cheaper way into an air cooled which I would like to modify.
I already have a 997.1 GT3 owned for 51/2 years now, but fancy something I can strip down and play with.

The engines are not well regarded for the fuel injection and also upgrade-ability. However they seem to be well liked by their owners which makes no sense!

What BertBert said (so good they named him twice?)
My great pal had one for a number of years - I drove it a few times and loved it - fast enough, very nimble on high sidewall thin tyres, a pretty car too
Here's the only picture I have (excuse the 'humorous' caption!)

Can anyone help on valuing a 1976 US 2.7 911s. Car was on eBay but was taken off for buy it now.

Seller now says buyer has delayed with funds so offered it to me. Price was $34k. Obviously I’ve got shipping / import fees on top. Am I mad to buy unseen outside of eBay based on a few pictures and a video.

Here is the full resolution photos the seller shared.

Also a video

And can I replace the US impact bumpers with something more discrete or is that a problem?

Thanks

Can’t help with the valuation but if it were me I would be booking a flight to go look at it. It’s a relatively small cost compared to what you potentially could lose.

Thanks. Good point but I can’t get the time off at short notice and in any case I’m not sure I’d be any good at spotting major issues if I was there.

It was a bit of an impulse spot on eBay and on balance might be too much of a risk. Ive also just studied the photos again and it has what looks like two massive speakers behind the rear seats and the top two photo of invoices are from 1989 and 2003. Makes me wonder .....

Here’s the eBay item

Ask on Rennlist for the name/contact details of a respected Indy close to the vendor, and get it inspected, it’ll be the best $300 you’ve EVER spent. If the vendor is unwilling to entertain your request, you can be pretty sure it’s a got real (and unseen) issues.

I saw that the “Bridge” car ended up going for £141k. So a little out of my budget.

Thanks for the suggestions on inspections. Will keep in mind for another time, but on this one time was against me so I had to pass on the US car.
