This must have been asked before, but my search powers have failed me.

The standard 993 and earlier accelerator pedal is a bit slippery when wet.

What options are there to make the accelerator better, grippier, but not the awful alloy things?

I've put new OE pedal rubbers on the clutch and brake, but what have you 'people' fitted to the gas pedal?

Thanks!

Maybe look at getting yours or a spare milled out to give it more grip. If that's possible?

Just leave it on the carpet in the corner of a Wetherspoon pub for a couple of days. By the time you send someone to collect it (you won't want to go back yourself a second time) it'll be stickier than freshly chewed gum and ready for a bit of action.

Not on my 993 but I have in the past used skatebaord grip tape on pedals - I think it was in my 7 and one of the Beetles - worked well on those.

Interesting thoughts.

I actually meant a replacement pedal, rather than gluing carpet to the original....just not one of the go-faster alloy versions with holes in.

Is there no Gentleman racer's accelerator pedal option?

Interesting, my efforts with grip tape have been pretty useless over the years. Seems to just break up too easily.

Yup, no self respecting 993 owner takes P&J out from under it's indoor dust cover and opens the climate controlled storage area if there is any damp let alone wet to be encountered.

Only joking hehe

I don't mind as long is it's not salty. When car came home after a weekend in Scotland back in October it could easily have been mistaken for a tractor.
