That seems a bit steep… did someone have a couple of pints before bidding or am I missing something??
A mint RS maybe but…

Sold by Sothebys in 2017. If the price shown doesn't include fees it's hardly a high performing investment over the period; plus 1,500 miles in that time doesn't appear like the owner enjoyed it much. I'd be disappointed with the standard seats. A standard Turbo for half the price would I'm sure be just as enjoyable.

Being paid £77,000 for owning a stunning car for 8 years not a good investment? Yes, he should have put on 20,000 which probably would not have destroyed the price!
Its a decent profit but it would be interesting to see what associated bills have been paid in that ownership period. FWIW I think whoever has bought it has got a cheap car with only 26 RHD turbo s made I think thats a £500k car in a few years. They're built in a very different way to everything that came after them and super rare. Gorgeous looking 911.

I don’t “get them” personally…can’t drive it unless you want to destroy the value.
Think the 2S is a better looking 993 without the spoiler…and whilst it won’t have the shove I’d rather have a RWD 911.
They weren’t a popular drive when they came out,not the best handling car, mate got rid of his in less than a year, very overrated like a 4.0rs.Think the 2S is a better looking 993 without the spoiler…and whilst it won’t have the shove I’d rather have a RWD 911.
Agree 2s and rwd

Saw that on CC.
Price for that Turbo S was twice my valuation. But it only takes a few ‘heady’ bidders.
Week earlier, this looked like an infinitely better buy.

(Although, that RS rear spoiler destroys the 993’s elegant lines even more than the Turbo’s
)
Yes, saw that RHD ex South Africa. KMs on the clock, not aware of any other differences?Price for that Turbo S was twice my valuation. But it only takes a few ‘heady’ bidders.

And sorry if someone out there spent £300k on one, I agree that it is the ugliest of all the 911 spoilers. However, if I owned one I am sure I would think it was the most beautiful thing in the world, especially when I was flying around a fast corner and it was the only thing holding the bum down!

You'll excuse me for saying as much, but that's complete cobblers !!

Silver does the car no favours (though it looks better in the flesh) but especially the way the photographer has caught the light reflecting on the rear wing's endplates in various images.
On Guards, Speed, Riviera and black examples the rear wing blends in with the car's design better.
Whether the Clubsport rear wing was aerodynamically efficient at sticking the rear end down is a moot point, from my experience I'd say it had little or no effect, and I can't remember if it was adjustable (but I'm sure Yellow491 will be able to confirm one way or another) but it did form the basis for the evolution aerokit, which I'm sure provided real downforce on the race cars.

A 993 Turbo S is still one of my lottery car wins, they're at the age now where they sit (perfectly IMO) as a modern classic between the older 70s/80s 911s and newer ones. Still very usable and relatively modern looking.
My father had a zenith blue 993 4S for a year or two, wish he'd kept in his collection. Turbo-bodied, and he added the biplane spoiler and a few other bits, stunning bit of kit.
