I haven't used the car much over the last few months due to horrendous weather. On the last two occassions - November and early new year I have driven it for 20 -25 minutes and then parked. On restarting 15 minutes later there has been a squealing noise coming from the engine compartment which lasted 15-30 seconds and then went and doesn't return for the subsequent drive. The car was fine to drive and no warnings have appeared. Any ideas as to cause?

Not sure of Scud layout but possibly auxiliary belt (A/C or alternator) if there is one

Very helpful. I think the belt is correct as now its been pointed out it sounds exactly like a slipping fan belt on a normal car. I just hadn't thought that simple given the technical complexity underpinning the car. Many thanks
