Tyre Choice for Scud

What is the best tyre for scud? Any advice much apprecaited.

I asked this Q not so long ago, popular opinion was MPSS as an all rounder or Cup 2's if you want a more track bias tyre

Can't comment, never drive in the wet
Good enough for the 458 Speciale and Porsche 918

Cup 1's fine in damp/wet conditions, lethal in heavy rain/standing water.

Cup 2's grippier still than Cup 1's in damp/wet conditions, still lethal in heavy rain/standing water

I do know what you mean, but I think sometimes the danger is over played. If you drive in heavy rain as if your car is shod with a set of regular tyres then you will be in trouble. If you drive in the knowledge that you are wearing track type rubber then it's ok. It needs a lot of concentration and can still be tricky but its possible.

I've driven back from Spa in rain, sleet, snow in worn Cups on several occasions. Along with a couple of friends I've used Cups all year round. Admittedly it's not an everyday driver and if it was pouring I wouldn't go out in this type of car, but it can be done when need be.

HaHa Jimmy I remember once drove to skiing in my 64 RS and the cups only had the circumferential grooves left ( apperently still legal ) interesting trip..
but then Hanger straight at 3 in the morning in downpour aquaplaning also bit of fun..

Yes!

Have MPSS on mine and they are epic tyres - fantastic in the dry and good in the wet.
