Hi,

Just collected a "new to me" California. It didn't have an iPod connector (useful buying tip from previous post !), therefore, I requested that it was installed. Not a problem - thank-you dealer.

However, it's a USB cable that's been installed. Whilst I thought it would most likely be a 32-pin adaptor, I wasn't expecting a USB plug.

Is this correct - or do I need to loop back with the dealer ? After all, not everyone uses Apple products ....

Many thanks,
Lee.

Firstly Congratulations!

In answer to your question: Take your iPhone charger at home - pull the cable out - and shove it in your USB socket. Ta Dah! Not sure if you have much apple stuff - but I always find that I have 5 more than I need smile

Ok ... sounds as though the "iPod connector" is indeedly a "USB connector" in disguise. No problems with removing a USB cable and installing within the car ... will be even able to boast of having a lightening connector if I do that ...

Thanks for response. Now need to go out and drive it and stop worrying about what tunes to play ...

Does your system let the phone stream to the stereo? In my Speciale, the phone bluetooths connectivity - and streams to the stereo. Which means, if I take the phone out of the car - I still pick up the music if I'm in range! The cable is useful when on long runs - so you can charge your phone up!

In the Lamborghini and Maserati - you have to connect it, physically.

Cheers Anjum. Unfortunately cannot answer your question ... looks like the power to the entertainment unit was disconnected \ wasn't reconnected when the "iPod" lead was being installed ...

Oh well. Quick chat with the dealer this morning.

Speciale ... I gotta work harder ... !!!
