458 Cover or rodent wars

Having just found my rude on mower fuel line has been attacked by rodents, I'm now reluctant to keep my Spider on the barn.

Any recommendations for outdoor covers, or a foolproof method of keeping Mickey and his mates off my pride and joy?

I live in the country and have stopped using bird feeders because the discarded food attracted rats from the stable yard along the way. Now, I have trays of poison in my garage which seem to do the job…

We live in the country too and occasionally experience rodents. Things we've done:

- removed all bird feeders
- purchased bait boxes and rat poison for from The Pest Expert
- purchased traditional mouse traps from Big Cheese

All of the above worked very well but worth noting the mouse poison from The Pest Expert didn't, hence the move to traps.

We are also a bit rural (village) and used to tolerate the odd field mice in the garage until they decided to start eating the Ferrari cover. Then I’m afraid it was a case of putting down mouse poison. It has done the trick but it does mean that quite often when I reverse the car out there’s a dead, decomposing mouse underneath.

That Goodnature A24 looks awesome. All the reviews of it are positive and the only complaints are about the price. But if you have the wherewithal for a 458 then a couple of hundred to protect your car from pests isn't a high price to pay. Certainly cheaper than a carcoon or car cover but more expensive than traditional rodent control.

Unless your solution involves a solid metal box for the car, they will find a way in as they climb up the wheels.

My wife found this mouse hiding under the bonnet of our daily driver so your car doesn’t have to be in long term storage to attract rodents.

Somewhere I have a pic of a dead rat found well roasted in the engine bay of my mates Ferrari 575. Found it on arrival at our Chateau near Le Mans

Buy a box of 100 glue traps.

Surround car with them .

Cruel but effective

Mine lives in a Carcoon for this reason. It seems to keep them out, must be too much effort to chew their way in.
