On holiday in Spain and my 488 Spider will not complete the roof opening or closing cycle. It keeps clicking to try and lock the rear hatch but cannot do it successfully.

When I go above 30 miles an hour it says roof not closed please slow down. The roof then trys continually clicking to lock the deck lid but then says system overheating.

I'm away in Spain and cannot even lock the car as the roof won't fully close all fully open so does anybody know how to reset it please?

This is from the manual, not sure if it helps

Opening and closing is actuated by a hydraulic system, driven by a pump and controlled by a number of sensors that check every opening and closing phase.

Warning

Avoid opening and closing the hard top repeatedly. Prolongeduse of the hydraulic system causes it to overheat and disablesit temporarily. The message "Roof operation inhibited-Systemoverheating" appears on the TFT display. After a few minutes, normal operation is resumed

Thank you for that. It just didn't want to open or closed completely to finish the cycle I was wondering if there was a manual reset or some buttons to press but it seems to have fixed itself momentarily but probably need some codes reset
Thanks

For the 458 I have a vague recollection of there being a manual process set out in the manual,

Assume the 488 is the same.

Hi just wondering did the roof get fixed in the end? I’m having exactly the same problem in my 2018 model spider. Only took delivery of the car yesterday! The dealer is scratching its head….
