I did wonder. £40k seemed pretty cheap compared to the others with half the mileage but I guess if it isn't selling then the market isn't happy with the price still.
The issue, I guess, is that for anyone buying it, they might be stuck with it - fine unless you need to release the funds and are willing to take a bath?

You haven't driven one have you? It's not just about outright speed and acceleration - and if pure acceleration is that important, buy a Tesla.They are fabulous things to drive, and in my opinion the perfect match of power and weight. You can actually use it, without reaching prison territory in seconds.
The idea that it's only worth buying of you want to say you own the badge does it a massive dis-service, and is - frankly - utter b

True but then I used to think that about 911s - if it's just about powerrrrrr then there are quicker, cheaper cars. I've done the highly tuned japcar thing (650bhp Skyline GTR) and while entertaining, there's something in the feel of the Porsche steering, for instance. I could still get a Golf R and tune it up (as a daily when I get rid of the TT) but these days, I'm more interested in the experience than outright power/speed. Also, the Ferrari engine is something special in a similar way to the Mezger one is for Porsche (over a DFI one!). I specifically want to try that F engine (rather than the newer one in the California and 430). It's a toss up between an early '00s V8 and a Pre-LP Gallardo V10 - mainly because of the characteristics of said engines. I know it's meaningless but we gotta have hobbies.

Edit: yes, as Davek says, if it's about acceleration, I could just get an EV!

I'd like a Ferrari to be Ferrari quick, but as I said, that's not even quick by today's hot hatch standards. And no, I haven't driven one of them because they don't do it for me at all. A McLaren maybe. I owned a 911 C2 (992) and wasn't impressed with that either. Drove very well, no doubt, but the negatives outweighed the positives. Gotta live with it, remember. I think this is a bit unkind.Anyway, I had high mileage 360 back in the day. A manual. Then I had an F430. Then a 458. Now a 296GTS.
I loved as much and had as fun in the 360 as the others. For different reasons. It was decatted and had a Tubi exhaust.
If I wasn't stretched with the 296 I'd look at this.

I wouldn't get the Gallardo either. Ever driven one? I have. Quite an event, but the interior is for the short and thin. Maybe all that tennis has shrunk you Hoofy! The R8 is supposed to be terrific, and if you had a bit of cash the base McLaren is getting competitive?All good in our community where our supercar is your supercar mate.
I had this reflection when I passed a Pagani Zonda near some small village which as an Irish person didn't realise meant it isn't a village, it is a hedge fund owner zone in my Ariel Atom 4 and nearly smashed into a Zonda and we all need to live with each other despite disparities in traction control.
The UK is great for cars even if you don't realise it.

Re 911 - I mentioned Mezger which related to 996s and 997s. I understand they are the best driver's cars, and your 992 is a bit too "luxury" to be interesting.
I'll have to try a 360 before making my mind up. And the Gallardo as also mentioned. I'm under 6ft and fairly slim (as my gf recently put it, I'm slim but have broad shoulders - I think that's the nearest I'll get to a compliment about my physique so I'll take it!) so maybe I'll feel comfy in a Gallardo.
I've been a bit lazy with finding my next car because every time I jump in the 996, it is still an event (even if many say it's boring!).
