California T advice
Discussion
Hi all, would really appreciate views on the potential purchase in the link below.
Does anyone know this car, with 7 owners and 11k miles - red flag?
Also, the handling pack, does this really add anything to resale values, I change cars often, and wonder if it makes it any more desirable.
Finally, in peoples experience, what does the dealership spread tend to be on these things - if I bought and then sold back after 6 months / 3000 miles - what am I potentially losing? £10k? £15k? Appreciate this is crystal ball stuff, but you all have the experience in Ferrari I don't have!
Thanks in advance all

And then the next potential owner will be on here in six months time asking about 8 owner cars with 14k miles
If all you want to do is run it for the summer then ask Stratstone to give you a guaranteed repurchase price based on age and mileage. Then you’ll know where you stand financially but I’m guessing that they’ll bid you no more than 60k.

I think you need to consider its the wrong time of the year to be buying a convertible (peak summer pricing) with the expectation of selling it in November or December and not taking a hiding.
Mix in main dealer mark up, less popular colour and the age of the car meaning its on the cusp of not being warranted by a main dealer moving forward and this has all the ingredients for a significant drop.
I know it’s not a T, but somewhere in between, and you want white, I would be looking at this and offering 69,950. Think your loss would be 15k max for a 6 month use. Has Ferrari Warranty that could be extended by the next owner if needed. Racing Seats must be very rare in a Cali.

Just to update - I m not planning to sell within 6 months, I m not crazy as has been pointed out :-) . I was just trying to gauge what the spread might be- and it seems to be the 20% mark.
Does anyone have any comments re the handling pack and desirability? Or number of owners being a red flag?
Colour is of course subjective and appreciate white isn t everyone s cup of tea! Thanks for all the comments so far

Handling pack is for me is irrelevant on this model, it’s a drop top gt, if it compromises the ride then it’s perhaps less desirable.Does anyone have any comments re the handling pack and desirability? Or number of owners being a red flag?

Dick Lovett are first class, they have 4 Ferrari approved cars on their web site…. All at better prices and probably with a deal to be had.

I have owned high end cars with lots of owners (including a Ferrari with 8 prior owners, and an Aston with 10) and some with very few owners. There has been no correlation whatsoever between the number of owners and how good the car has been. It's at a main dealer, which means it should have been inspected and will come with a warranty, so honestly I wouldn't worry about the number of owners at all. That being said, if you aren't planning on keeping it long then you might find it a touch harder to sell because some people do (incorrectly IMHO) get caught up on how many people have owned a car.

Or perhaps you get the car you really want not caring about resale at a possibly advantageous price.
Not caring etc. is why I bought yellow.
