Spewing Petrol

Was at a cafe today and a guy arrives in his Huracan Performante (I think that is what is was), he had been parked up for a while with people admiring it/taking photos when the car decided to spit out a LOT of fuel from somewhere in/around the engine, cafe owner rushed to get a couple fire extinguishers just in case but thankfully it didn't catch fire, I was stood approx 40ft away and could smell the petrol so it spat out a fair amount!
Owner was waiting for recovery to turn up (i left before they arrived) so didn't see it leave, is there any faults/recalls on these? Owner was one lucky guy,had he been sitting at a junction or driving along and it decided to spit out the fuel it could have been nasty
