My local specialist informs me that the small ram that's mounted horizontally above the offside front window has expired and taken the little limit switch with it.
Apparently Lambo don't sell these parts separately (indeed Eurospares show only one part number for the whole system) and want £6.5k just for the parts!

Obviously I'm not much on spending that, so wonder if anyone's experienced the same before and has a source of rams or perhaps a company who rebuilds such things?

These guys get recommendations, but are in the states. They did a ram rebuild on a car on wheeler dealers.

K50, keen to hear what the result and solution was for this.

Hoping you got it fixed without needing to replace the entire roof!!

In the end I took it to another specialist to get a second opinion.
They discovered that the roof mechanisms hadn't been reset correctly when the seized latch on the engine cover was replaced (the cover lifts as part of the roof processes).
They re-calibrated the various microswitches and the roof has been perfect since.

No ram rebuild or otherwise required, and only a (relatively) small bill

The Supercar Rooms near Kidderminster.

They maintained my previous Ferrari and also looked after this Lambo for the previous owner so thought it was worth the trip.

Thank you very much for responding. I think this goes to show that no one is infallible. There can be 'hero worship' on forums about certain indies, but there are also plenty out there and many good.

If the OP had followed initial advice and not taken a second opinion they would have spent a significant sum that was not required. Annoyingly they probably spent money on incorrect diagnosis. That's life, but demonstrates the value in seeking second opinions.
