Whats with these adverts at the bottom of each page

I hope no one is going to click on them

For me, no.
But i guess people have to advertise, and someone has to host it (for a fee of course).

They are a PITA but if the revenue from them keep the site going then they are a necessary evil.

They aren't really a problem IMO - being at the bottom they are very unobtrusive to anyone reading the page content and if someone wants to click on one then PH gets some benefit (which helps keep my PH experience free) - sounds like a good thing to me.
