Ummm... bye bye topic

OK, so I've been on this forum for ten years, posted one or two times and started the occasional thread.
I posted earlier to get a few people to kick the tyres of a site I've put together. It's not a commercial project, just something I wrote in my spare time. The thread received very little attention and was probably going to die a natural death, which was a pity as it would help to have a few visitors to check that things basically work.
Sadly, the topic has been removed. The email informing me was 'noreply' and anonymous. The comment was that the post was advertising - hmmm. It would have been nice to get a warning message, or discuss the matter rather than a unilateral take down.

Sorry to disappoint on this occasion but we usually delete these types of post mainly because we would like our members to stay here with us and not be transported elsewhere.
If it helps I deleted the post inline with the above, however when I typed the mail I don't remember mentioning the word advert. That's not to say I didn't I just don't remember doing so, having been up since 4 this morning I must admit my brain is getting a little addled.
