How about, as a middle ground, some 'Official' what car threads are created, say

What car 1-2k

What car 2-4k

What car 6-10k

What car 10k +

I appreciate peoples actual requirements may differ but they could post within them? This would keep them contained but without another sub forum?

No, I don't like that because some people want a 2k sports car and others want an estate and so on. Posting in one thread would make it hard to follow and hard to contribute. I think most people like it as it is and they are a large section of traffic on the website. If you don't like them, then don't click on them. IMO of course .

They don't bother me in the slightest, hell I have my own one running at the moment

I know they do bother others though so was trying to suggest a solution

I see your point but I can't agree they 'clog up' the forum because they are very popular. People like to contribute and give experiences. I think a separate forum would kill them off.

In GG at this time on the front page there are 2 'What Car?' out of 16 not wiki/sticky threads. On page 2 there is 1 'What Car?' out of 20 threads. Surely you can trawl past such a relatively small number to get to what you want. Are they really clogging it up?

And we have so many other more specific forums too. Still IMHO of course .
