For the majority of this year it seems that the PH search had been out of action. Very frustrating as the google one is absolute pants.

PLEEEAAASE can we have it working again soon at it is a nightmare to find anything on here at the mo.

site:_pistonheads.com "search terms" on google.co.uk works better than both of them

Remove the underscore, leaving it in there on here makes a tongue out

But you can't list it in date form.. (or can you?)

We're having some DB Load issues. and turning the search back on makes it worse.
On Friday we elected to turn it off rather than have it fail 50% of the time (and each time it does, email us about it).
It is being looked into. And we do appreciate that it's annoying that it doesn't work.

Please do bare with us.

I can see a point in time where people will no longer say "I remember when it was all fields", they will simply say,

"I remember when search worked"

go to google.co.uk

type in site: pistonheads.com [searchterm]

where [searchterm] is what you want to search for. remove the space between site: and pistonheads.com too

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site%3Apistonhead...

It is a shame that the search does not work a lot of the time. PH forums are a fantastic resource but sadly not much use without the search function working.

I just did a search for "PH search"... I think I may have broken it.
