Unable to login from iPhone/iPad

Been having intermittent login problems on my iPhone and iPad. Go to the login page and enter my details and it says "You've logged in successfully" etc but clearly I'm not. This has been happening on and off for a while...

It's annoying isn't it. Sometimes it's fine and others not.

I way round it is to click on the full website link at the bottom of the page. It will let you log it that way.

It also helps to use pistonheads.com and not any of the other domains.


For example, if you log in to pistonheads.co.uk and click a link on the news page that is hardcoded for pistonheads.com, the cookie won't be recognised as you've logged in to pistonheads.co.uk and not pistonheads.com.

I realise it's a bigger issue, but just thought I'd share the tip.

I think there's a Safari bug to do with cookies. I can stay logged in to PH for a week or so with no probs, but then I'll suddenly appear as logged out, and logging back in appears to succeed, but then immediately shows me as logged out again.

If I close all the Safari windows, run another app in order to make sure safari was shut down, then restart it, go to PH, suddenly I appear as logged in and it all works properly.

I browse the full site from my iPhone and I have a similar problem occasionally

I managed to fix the problem by deleting all pistonheads cookies.

Strange thing is my missus has the same problem on her Windows phone using Opera. Not sure if Opera is based on the webkit engine the same as Safari - if it is it would make sense.

Im logged in using my iphone and have never had any issues!

Never cleared cookies either!
