Single quotes in titles cause threads to fail to load because for some reason the appearance of the single quotes in the NMT= part of the URL causes it to bork.

Seems to me that either the parsing should prevent people entering single quotes in the title, or should be able to cope with it across the board.

I don't know if this works but have you tried putting two single quotes next to each other? I.e. '' (<-- not a double quote)

e.g. The title would read
I''ve no longer got a problem with single quotes

Normally databases don't like single quotes unless the developer has thought about it

Thanks, but to be fair the other thread's title isn't exactly descriptive of the problem here smile

Still doing it, PH. Why don't you just format it so the stuff after the & is not included, thus negating the issue from the get go, or have ' as an illegal character?

Guess this one is triggering SQL injection protection.

Surely this isn't a difficult fix?

It's annoying, to say the least.

4 months since I started this. The ridiculous thing is that it works fine if you click what appears to be an identical link from the forum list page rather than from my stuff.

Edited to add... Are you sure? Clicked the link above, and still invalid, or have you altered things so it's not an issue from now on?

That link is static text that was copy/pasted. It's never going to work.

But actual links from "My Stuff" now work. smile
