Why, in relative laymans terms, is it so hard to have the "search in thread titles" function working correctly?

Not working for me this morning, Ipad keeps chucking up that the server has stopped responding.

This happens a lot, is it me or is this function consistently unreliable?

It is consistently unreliable, but it just worked for me.


Like a lot of things on this website, the search functionality is very old-school and can't keep up with what the site has grown into today.

We do offer a google search functionality, as well, though I highly suggest just going to google.co.uk and following this guide: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/5-ways-to-do-a-site-s...

For example, searching for "greek salad": http://www.google.com/search?btnG=1&pws=0&...

Hopefully soon we can update the search. But for now, this is what we've got.

Its working now, thanks for the response and additional info for searching its appreciated.

Using this site for my Tvr and other similar forums for a previous car, I find the search function invaluable for researching.
