Unable to submit a new Advert

I'm getting the following clicking on "continue" after a long wait on the final advert submit screen...This is happening AFTER it has let me type out the full advert AND add all the pictures.



500 internal server error....
Ah, something odd is happening here so let's try and help you fix it.

You can use the search box situated on the top right of the page
Click the back button and try another link from there
We don't like to see technical problems on PistonHeads, so while you navigate away from this page be assured that the techie responsible will be asked to stand in the corner for the rest of the day to think about what they have done.

Also getting this message when I went to re-submit an existing advert. Tried about 6 times yesterday and a couple today.

Getting a bit hacked off tbh.
I understand the eventual benefits of the new system and appreciate that it must have been very complex to build, but why launch something that's so buggy and slow?

Everyones having the problem and im sure the technical team are working on it as fast as possible.

As much as people dont enjoy change theres always teething problems that crop up in the live environment despite all the testing that occurs - all in all a little bit of patience and perseverance will see the forum running much better.

I'm all for change And I'm a very patient person by nature.

I was merely highlighting the issue....if no-one reports problems how will they know it is broken

I cannot find the vdealer page any more. So going through the classified ad placement page I have spotted the dealer section. I click on the 'Trade Click Here' bit, and then the log on here bit in the 'Already Have an Account' box. Nothing happens at all.

It might have been nice to have a little e-mail with instructions for existing and (reasonably) regular trade advertisers, no?

I make these comments in the spirit of informing and encouragement.

When up and running, the new search filters will be a great benefit, and I for one hope you are able to go on and give the 'market leader' a jolly hard time. You are absolutely assured of my support, as any company who's mantra is "They need us more than we need them...!" can be sure of undying determination to prove them wrong.

Good to see this is not just me then.

I have an expired advert I am trying to re-list - but to no avail. Have even been through the entire edit advert and get same issue.

I assume an update will be posted in this thread when resolved?

I called today, a lady told me if its not fixed by 4pm today they are reffering back to the old website to get backlogged ads on...i image they are pulling their hair out with complaints right now.. .

I expect they are but they can't blame anyone but themselves. You do not go live with a site that has more bugs than an anteaters breakfast and then not engage with seriously annoyed customers.

Besides, you don't want to submit a new ad. My one from tuesday hasn't reappeared yet.

Everyone who has lost adverts should get their cash back. Simple.

To be fair - mine is a minor inconvenience. Free advert - and in no deperate hurry. As long as I know when it is fixed then I can move on!

I know this section has been rolled back to the old format, and my advert has now disappeared completely (it was not live - I was hoping to re-submit it). I could see my advert for the day(s) when new format was in place, I just could not click on submit.

Do I need to start again from scratch? Or will the advert re-appear as able to be resubmitted when you move back to the new format?

Hi, sorry to say it but unfortunately if your ad wasn't submitted then we didn't roll it back. Is it much trouble to create a new one? If so, I can try to help you recover any part of it.

Also, contact [e-mail] to see if you can get compensation for the delay / hassle.

Hi, sorry to say it but unfortunately if your ad wasn't submitted then we didn't roll it back. Is it much trouble to create a new one? If so, I can try to help you recover any part of it.

No big deal - I can recreate the advert. Fortunately I save a copy in word, and still have the photos from before I uploaded it. Also no need for compensation as it was a free advert.

It was more just that it was strange that all the details were there to resubmit on the new format when it was up, but it would not accept the re-submit transaction, and now it is not there. Just did not know if temporary bug, or gone forever. I will re-create when I get home.
