Mobile site: Bad Request

I keep getting an error on the mobile site:

Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.

Cookie: FITSID= <snip, cos it goes on forever>

Apache Server at turukawa.office.sevenval.de Port 80

Not sure if it's your problem or mine tbh. Using an htc Desire.

This - I think it's a bug in some WebKit based browsers.

Yep, clearing cookies sorts it but it's the second time it's happened. I have to admit I have no idea how cookies work but assumed you sent them out so it's your fault if they're too big.

Me ? I don't work here!

Cookies need to be cleared by the browser periodically and it seems that some webkit browsers don't like the way PH sets the expiry times so they don't clear them, as a result they end up with more and more PH cookies which they send back with every request until the server complains and you get the situation you were in.
