Inappropriate ads on PH when abroad

I keep getting adverts for sex stuff on PH when I look at it from here in France. I'm at work right now and have an advert which translates as the following:

"Stop squirting over your screen and do it instead over the face of the babe that you're going to fk tonight."

"Look at photos and meet girls in your area"

"No credit card needed"

"Click here to fk"

Now I'm a fairly open minded fella and I understand the need for adverts on PH but this is just annoying, especially when I'm at work! There is so much fuss made here about NSFW stuff in threads but this is actually embedded in the forums.

Can something be done about it? Do we know who these people are?

Indeed they are. Clearly for someone with so much porn browsing for it to require a forum posting, I'd suggest an ad blocker of some description.

Do you find it appropriate that a site with the profile of Pistonheads has adverts with porn in them on it?

No, because it uses your own browsing history to cater for those adverts, so clearly you don't mind browsing porn, so shock and surprise at a porn advert seems a little hypocritical!

I'll say it again-I am at work and I can assure you that there is absolutely no porn in my browsing history.

I figured it was down to the fact that as I am abroad there are fewer constraints on the advert content or something?

I always thought it was adverts based on keywords in the specific page you are viewing.

A page talking about hire cars has adverts for Hertz, and page talking about insurance has adrianflux.

I can't see what thread your reading in the screenshot.

V-spec, thank you very much indeed, nice to know I'm not alone! Interesting that you're in Belgium (I'm in France) if I haven't read that wrong, I wondered if that was the reason.

If I were you I'd click on report for the ad when it appears. Giving the mods info on which thread it pops up & a screen grab will help them sort it out.

Our Ad team are having a look into this. But currently we suspect malware might be to blame as our partner ad networks don't serve that sort of content.

I'm pretty certain I have no malware on my computer though. It has all my patient records on it so we are extremely careful what we do with it re getting trojans etc

Must say there's been a few Dutch ones that raised an eyebrow here for PNSFWness here a couple of weeks back, too...

I've had a few on iPad safari that have the annoying moving banner thing, and an alert message, that you can only clear by shutting down safari, and quickly closing down the window on reopening. I'll try to get a screen grab next time it happens.
