Perhaps "tiresome" would have been more apt.

You avoided the swear filter by posting a picture with a swear word that would get filtered if typed in it.
You've been here well long enough to know what the words are and that we don't allow them.

If the pictures were "ok" before that's more likely because we didn't see them. We're not everywhere all the time after all.

Avoiding the swearing filter by any means can carry forum bans and repeated attempts can result in full bans.
At least it was just your post that got deleted.

Indeed, I'm guessing a reaction to your long standing anti-jock campaign ... but I could be wrong.

It's all in your mind, Eric. I have no anti Jock campaign. I have nothing against Jocks. I have nothing against Jockland. Nothing at all.

I have a jovial dig at the world of Jock whenever the subject arises, yes, but, if you'd stop concentrating on yourself, you'd also see me having a dig at...

Scousers
The Welsh
The inhabitants of Rotherham, Doncaster, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cornwall, Derbyshire, Chesterfield, Penistone, London, Goole, Scunthorpe (how did I do that?), to name but a few..
Germans
French
Belgians
Spanish
Italians
Aussies

Hell, the list is endless...even residents of certain districts in my home town.

Come on, give it a rest now, no malice intended. If you can point out the post(s) that planted this seed in your mind, I'll gladly rephrase them.

Testing, testing..

st..

Dammit, you're right. There's one word that should be on the list, but isn't. I was thinking st was it, but it clearly isn't...

What the hell is the word I'm thinking about..?

Brainstorm time, my humble apologies but, if you'd said this in the email, all would have been clear.

EDIT

No, I'm not wrong. Thought I was going daft, so I did a search.

Having opened SIX threads, each one contains this word, typed and not filtered.

So, what's going on here...?

I'm feeling a bit discriminated against.

I think that you should be banned because you are clearly ignoring the Irish.

Places where swear words that are normally filtered are NOT filtered are because people have purposefully gone out of their way to get around them.

If they're still out there its because we've not seen them yet. Feel free to report any "offensive" posts as such and appropriate action will be taken.

Everyone clear?

No, do a search and you'll find a lot of examples, not filtered and not typed in a way that evades the filter.

That's why I thought st wasn't on the list. Just curious about why this happens.

As an admin I can see how a word was typed (formatting etc that is not displayed on the front end) and i can tell you that its not just not being filtered.
The swearing filter is part of the page that interprets the post content that's fed to it from the db.

Type a swear word into your post. That is saved unedited into the db. Its then passed back to the topic display page and finally scanned for swear words and censored. Unless someones used things in their text to avoid the filter.

Yes, I know that. If you quote such a doctored word, you can see how the word was doctored.

That's not the point.

I was pulled up because that word is censored when I type it but my picture couldn't be censored. However, as I've already said, do a search and you'll find lots of posts containing that word, unmolested by the poster, that appears intact after posting.

My question is why is this happening?
