Why are formatting tags not workie?

Thread here. Go down to my post at 1801, why are the bold tags I've put in the quote not workie please?

Correct, but why aren't mine working? Is there some mystery limit on how much text one can highlight? As you can see, I have suitably boldeded your text.

I think it's to do with paragraphs?
Each new one needs to be bolded!

Put the tags at the start/end of each paragraph - it will not jump the line down.

Aha! Mystery solved. Never come across a forum before that works that way with the formatting. Usually you can stick your tags wherever it will highlight the entire text between them, paragraphs or no paragraphs.
