Why is this always happening?

Seems to happen several times every day at the moment, doesn't matter which forum I want to load up, it goes very slow then I get this:


I only ever use the mobile site, is it something wrong at my end or are the hamsters not being looked after properly?

The mobile site works by "scraping" content from the desktop site, and it is set to time out after a maximum of 4 seconds - in other words, if it doesn't get a response to a query (ie to access a particular page) within that time then it shows the error. We can't extend this timeout unfortunately, so when the main site gets very busy, you'll see these timeout messages, rather than just having to wait a long time for the page to load.

So in short, the main site is to blame, not the mobile.
