Why ban somebody for trying to help the OP?

I didn't offer my opinion on Idevices until I was slagged off by somebody else. Even then it was only that I hate them, nothing more, a couple of lines compared to many a diatribe on other threads.

I was and still am the only person who helped the OP.

I'm still rather interested in how offering your opinion on the function of something helps the OP with his question but I guess I'll never know.

I guess I should avoid trying to help people. Either that or opposing the Apple gods.

I'd really like to know the thought processes behind this, read the thread, I am the ONLY one answering the question, the rest is the heretic getting his knickers in a bunch after giving some frankly useless input.

Looking back it was down to your tone and manner within posts made on the thread, some of which were reported to us.

It's a break, not a ban. I'm sure you were trying to be helpful but perhaps a more measured approach might be better next time. Just take a look back at some of your posts for examples.

Is it possible to accidently hit the 'report' button?

I've hovered over it before and thought, hmm ... hope that didn't just send a report message back to the PHQ team

I have accidentally hit report, but you have to then submit a form. Can't be done unless you use elbows as an input method.

Yes it does happen, but we view and see what's happen and just report and post on the report "wrong button pressed."
