Thread closed in general gassing

Hey guys,
I've tried looking for a function to pm a mod or some other admin but I'm either blind or there isn't one so I'm posting here.
I'm just wondering why my survey thread was removed. I checked all the rules before I posted to make sure I wasn't contravening any of them, and I thought that I ended up with quite an interesting thread with some good discussion from the members in it.
It could have just been moved to the motorsport section if not suitable for general gassing?
I was also planning on doing a follow up thread with the results as I was getting some very interesting replies to questions that a lot of people would have been interested to see.
Not having a go, just looking for a reason why it was removed so that I don't cross that line again.
