Why is it always under maintenance?

It's down to ease the load off the database, so the forum doesn't slow down. That's my understanding of the situation.

Not very good though considering the resource that could be available.

Hope they are working on a quick solution

The quick solution is to go to google and type what you want to search for and include

site:pistonheads.com


into your search.

For example, first hit: https://www.google.co.uk/search?sugexp=chrome,mod=...

We accept that the search function is pants

Also for some reason the search function powered by google is really useless

Could you please stick

All I want is to search by date....newest first so I can search for recent posts

Google search is dire for some reason...isn't returning the most relevant threads, only the most recent.

Any idea on an ETA for the proper one, or are you still awaiting new hamsters???

We should be able to re-activate the search once the new classifieds are out of beta.
