Mods - A question for clarity please

Please first don’t think I mean this as an attack, I’m just a little confused about things.
Found myself banned last night from the Gif thread in the lounge after posting a gif of Olivia Wilde - picture of gif-
, gif is available at request. Now I know we have a low tolerance to nudity and adult themes here on the forum, and after seeing the gifs contained below, which to this moment remain active in the thread un moderated, I thought nothing of posting it. Obviously I now know better. and had i deemed it to honestly be NSFW i would have wrapped/linked it as such.
The Mod who has banned me gave me no real explanation, even though throughout the thread Mods have stepped in and removed offensive inappropriate images,
I had this message in my emails - You have been banned from The Lounge for 7 days for breaking PH posting rules and posting an inappropriate image.
It seems like an auto generated message tbh and offers little clarity in how the image broke the rules,
Its seems a little heavy handed if I’m honest, I’ve been a member of various forums for a good few years now and have, on the rare occasion I have fallen foul of the Mods, been advised first about my behaviour, as I’ve witnessed been the case here on occasion too,but i find myself banned immediately for what I can see as honestly no real reason, apart from that particular mod that banned me taking massive offence to it. given the gifs contained in the spoiler tags compared to the one i posted this, for me, is outrageous double standards! I don’t know if the ones who posted these were also banned, but seeing as the gifs still live I tend to think otherwise.
So I ask, is there not a set system for mods on issuing bans, small infractions attract a warning? Continuing to flout the warning leads to a ban. Or is it just down to that mod whether he/she deems it an instant banning offence? and what exactly falls under the inappropriate material category if none of the following gifs appear to??
As this is outside the Lounge I have put all gifs in spoiler tags, and have included them only for the purpose of my question.
