Personal Details compromised?

Hopefully I'm wrong, but having done some searching I don't think I am.

I've spent 2 weeks trying to get an ad on Pistonheads with no success, the login for the classifieds keeps falling on its arse. Just now I got in! YES! So I quickly input my car details and when I get to the personal section at the bottom I attempt to type in the box, over the top of the default names entered there.

It won't let me, saying I need to change them in the classified manager section...

...hang on...

...who's details are these? They arn't mine. These look some another users? I have googled the phone number (which links to an add on Gumtree) and the email address (which gives me a site where this guy is offering a fish tank for sale), so it appears that Pistonheads has linked me to someone elses account (I've removed parts of the details).



Please tell me this isn't so?

I did email Pistonheads yesterday regarding the classifieds section but got no reply. I'm hoping they will see this though.

hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Put lots of sware words in your post then the mods will pick it up!!

Thanks for reporting the bug. This occurred due to a code we generate to identify your interaction on pistonheads ie how we know its you on each page view, has in this instance duplicated between you and the other user. Unfortunately this rare occurrence happens due to the limitations of the algorithm used. We are working on a single sign on platform that will eliminate this issue.

Short term please clear you cookies for pistonheads.com and log in and you should be fine.

I did that. I've had no reply. I had no reply when I emailed before either.

I posted this exact same problem back in September.

I emailed a screen shot directly to [e-mail] - don't think I ever heard any more about it..

In my company this would be a massive issue, not sure what to say about it still occuring after 9 months.

I've had no reply to that email address either, only Matt who replied to the post above.
