I've been trying to list a new car in the classifieds for 2 weeks but its been broken and I continue to get the normal technical error. I've been told to email adverts@pistonheads.com but have had no reply despite mailing twice.

I've tried more browsers and machines than I can remember, all of which have the same problem.

What is going on?

I'm very surprised Katie hasn't gotten back with you. Let me try to help...

I don't see a classifieds account for the e-mail address you've registered for the forum. Have you registered for the classifieds? If you have, can you let me know what the e-mail address is? Send it to me via PM.

It's strange that you don't get asked to log in. I don't see a registration for your e-mail address in the classifieds and I don't see your member id associated with a classifieds account, so I'm not sure how the system would see you as a user.

Can you log out of PistonHeads: http://www.pistonheads.com/members/logout.asp
And log into the Classifieds: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/manage/mana...

And then try to submit your ad?

Logged out

Tried to log in with my partners account (its her car I'm selling) - Crash

Click on the link to create a new classified account for myself - Crash

Does it actually work for anyone else? I'm in the IT support industry and have litteratlly tried everything

Different accounts
Different browsers
Different computers
Logged in and logged out

Always crashes, for two weeks, except for once when it gave me someone elses account details.

Yep, it does work. I can get the submit page up and people are sending ads through...

Can you try registering another account?

And can you let me know the account you're trying to use? I can check it out and see if anything looks awry.

I'll try and explain again from the top

Work laptop with Chrome. I am not logged in autoamtically via a cookie. Classifieds - Submit an ad - Private advert - Get login details - Click 'create new account' - Enter details - Get email which opens in Firefox and I am able to submit an ad...FINALLY.

There is clearly a massive issue though. If the site falls over so much on so many different browerser with different IP's on different machines then there is a fundamental problem and it should not take weeks to be able to submit an ad.

What's strange is it only seems to be you having the problem. I'm genuinely sorry you've had to go through so much trouble to submit an ad, but happy to hear it's finally worked out for you.

The good news is we shouldn't have so many problems with the new system that should be out shortly. Thanks for your patience, it's far greater than mine would be.
