So a small minority spoil it for the majority!

I assume that all those involved in getting the thread closed have been appropriatley repremanded by the powers that be and warned about their future conduct?

I was a little confused by this too - the thread seemed to be going OK then suddenly one of the people in the pics joined up, was polite etc and someone decided to start abusing her. Then there was a small period where people exchanged views on this and suddenly a minority decided the whole thread had gone off topic and should be closed.

Surely a case for selective moderation of those involved and some housekeeping rather than a complete closure?

Didn't it start to get quite stalker-ish?.

It's always been borderline anyway.

It isn't that hard to type in 'Grid Girls' into Google and get much better results either!.

Agree it got a little O/T a few times regarding models Facebook pages, Twitter ID's etc, so no issue with it being closed although I quite liked looking!

But saying "you can type "Grid Girls" to google images" doesn't really stand to reason when theres a youtube thread, internet meme thread, bad parking thread and many other photo or pic related threads. They could all be closed with the same reasoning no?

Certainly seems a more appropriate response. Shutting it all together means all those relivent post, of which there was a shed load, are lost.

Seems a shame to shut it altogether.

I reported the abusive comments from 1 particular poster. I'm sure i don't need to remind anyone that abuse of a fellow PH'er, whether they've been here 5 minutes or 12 years is forbidden in the site rules and several of the comments made reflected (imho) very badly on the site. I doubt i was the only member to file a report.

Selective moderation or thread closure is a call for the mods to make, but as they've had to step in previously on that thread i am not surprised. I was actually going to post some of my own photos from the Oulton Park BTCC meeting when i spotted the posts in question, but i decided not to bother as i had no intention of giving anyone the chance to spout more drivel.

Personally i would like to see the thread continue but if the children are incapable of being civil then the toys get locked away.

I was one of the people that started the threads in the first place - originally it was a bit of fun - just photos and the occasional phroar. It was always borderline, whether it was withing the forum guidelines. By the 3rd thread it was becoming more Loaded mens lad comments less PH and I think it was rightly closed.

How about a gentlemans' agreement that comments in future will be polite, civil and friendly , especially to one of the subjects concerned who was brave enough to come in to the lions den giving the thread an added dimension only for someone to be needlessly offensive to her, with comments totally fallacious anyway, disgraceful, unworthy of the majority of sincere posters on this forum. Our apologies to Miss Graham.

So, a new leaf , and bring on volume 4 ?

It was a st thread anyway.

You would get more results more quickly without the puerile slathering by using google.

I'm guessing that this sums up why the thread got locked?
There comes a point where it's easier & time saving for the mods to bin a thread rather than keep trimming it.
(many other threads have suffered the same fate)

This thread as stated numerous times in the past walks a very thin, it's not just one member that sealed it's fate it's many members that do not seem to understand that the thread is for Pitbabes or Grid girls images only.

It just doesn't seem to sink in to some members, hence enough is enough, if members can't self moderate the thread it's time to call it a day.

One member just asked why move THIS thread, well it's now in the correct forum website feedback as THIS thread has nothing to do with motorsport.

So in order for this not to be a draw out debate about a closed thread I'm going to close it, any further issues then the correct channels regarding this thread are direct to Haymarket via email.
