PH now charging for adverts!

Hi
I have just tried to put up an add in the Classifieds and to my horror PH are now going to charge for adverts!
After them taking me off line for some of the weekend due to me trying to push things for the fest and now this.
I am afraid my days on the forum are numbered as I don't like the way the new owners of the form/PH are now doing things!

I haven't had a good weekend two car deals for my collection have gone tits up and I am pissed off both cars were from adverts from PH and they now want to charge me!

There was a thread in website feedback a short while ago about advert charging, I am sure they said for new members there is a charge but we have no plans to alter things for long term members. Things must have chnged then. They must have meant at that moment in time(2.47pm on a tuesday when it wasn't raining and cuckoos were digging new tunnels) there was no plans
We 100% will not charge you (a long standing member) for ads. Worry not.
PH Director Stuart has been very clear that we will never, ever do that. The time for "long standing member" isn't rolling, but is reviewed periodically. However, your 133 months certainly brings you into that category
It will be something a bit a-miss with the ads system. I'll report this thread to our ads team and someone will get on to sort it out and give you that (correctly wanted!) free ad

O! it's better than that, long term members have to send a pleading letter/e-mail so you don't get charged. There system can't pick up a long term member from a newbie so they send you out a letter/e-mail. They then reply telling you how to get round the charge. The thing is when I had my FHC for sale in May (Which was after the date they started charging) I was not charged. So they have changed the rules again! With the hassel I had at the weekend with PH I am so pissed of with PH I may just pack it in and just play with my toys when I can!

If you're a long standing member the "Payment screen" will show up, and when you click "Pay now" it takes you straight to the "congratulations" page.
Mr Tank, forgive me but I thought Katie had explained this via email already.
You get a free ad, but will see a 'pay now' button. Click that and it will take you to the next page showing your advert is free. It's the way we all (me included) do it, but I agree that the 'pay now' prompt makes you think you have to get your card out.

Yes she has by why with todays tech should a old member have to go through this. I had an add only in may no problem. Surely your system should be able to link a e-mail address with a Forum name and not apply the rule with out us having to do things. To me you have now become money oriented before members!
Plus it was not an add it was a wanted! Do you charge for that as well!

If you signed up for a classifieds account using the same details as used in your forum account they should be linked and providing that you registered before the cut off date (which you obviously did) then the adverts are free by the above described method.
To help me attempt understand, can I clarify.
Ads have been charged for years now
Older members have got free ads for the same period
You get a free ad, but you might have to click one extra time to get it
You mention having to send an email to us? You don't.
We are now money grabbing despite nothing changing at our end

I am sorry but the e-mail sent to me told me I had to e-mail PH. I was told in a later e-mail that this was automaticly sent out, if you can look at the e-mail sent to me you will see this!
Now in May I had an advert to sell a Tasmin FHC, I wasn't asked then for a payment and I certainly didn't click on any boxes.
But again this was not an advert as such, I was not seling anything, I was posting up a wanting notice i.e. I wanted a Tuscan Race car!
