Afternoon guys.

I am hoping for a response from PH Towers, as I am trying to upload an advert in BETA.

I sold a car last year through PH and all went well, using my PH login and the free advert, 9 photos because I was a member.

However, BETA wanted me to set up a new account (not really a problem) but now only give me the option of a Premium, 12 photo advert charged at £9.99.

Is this because I have done something wrong by not using my proper PH login, or these are new charges imposed by PH?
If so, is that £9.99 until the car is sold? I remember my previous free advert expired after a few weeks.

Apologies is these queries have previous been answered, but I am hopefully for a quick response while I am attempting to upload thumbup

Many thanks in advance,
Darren

Hi there,

Your best solution is to upload via the old site for your free ad. The beta should recognise both your old account and your free ad status but clearly the fact that its asking you to login is an indication that there is an issue with your new site login which I will fix on Monday. Like I say using the old site will let you get live and we can sort your beta account on Monday.

Cheers

Phil

I see where you've re-registered for the classifieds using your forum name.

For the classifieds site (old one), your login is your e-mail address (your AOL one). Try logging in with that on the beta site and you'll have no problems uploading your ad and you won't be charged.

Just to update you guys.
I was unable to sign in using my PH sign in on the BETA Classifieds to upload an advert.

I have successfully Submitted an advert to PH, however a couple of new queries have emerged, which I'm hopefully can be rectified during the Submission process.

The forum formatting codes don't appear to work in the advert (I assumed they would) and the pound sign seems to automatically alter to random numbers and symbols.

Please could PH Towers please advise me on these queries too?
Many thanks in advance.

Keep up the good work with the new Classifieds thumbup

Hey, great to see you got it up!

Sorry, but the forum formatting code only works on the forum. We don't allow any formatting within the advert on the old site or the new. You're also not allowed your e-mail address within the advert so you'll have to remove that as well.

Thank you for your continued assistance, Matt. It is very much appreciated smile
I wasn't aware of the formatting or the email addresses, so I will edit that now.

On a side note, is formatting something which has been considered for BETA?
I was attempting to use it to make certainly pieces of information more obvious smile

Thanks again,

Darren

No, it's not being considered for beta. Formatting like that is open to abuse so it's best to leave it as the same format for everyone.

Fair enough smile

Just one last question and I promise I'll leave you alone paperbag
It won't allow me to edit my phone number to one I wish to use. Is it OK to put a telephone number within the advert?
Thank you again.

That's also not allowed. Sorry, these may seem like silly restrictions but they're very common ways scammers operate (not that you are, of course wink but the rules apply to everyone).

Is it the old site you can't edit the number on? If you go to Manage my ads then to Edit User Details you can change your phone number there and that should automatically update on your advert across both sites.

Fair enough on the telephone number, too. I'll Edit it again.

Yup, it's on the old site.

I have run through that procedure twice, but the old telephone number still appears in my details confused

That's strange.... I was just able to edit my phone number. Which browser are you using?

Just the standard IE on Windows 7.
I have just tried again and it's still displaying the old number.

Ok, well I'll have a look tomorrow in the office. I have a Mac for home use.

Also worth trying to log in on the beta site again and changing it there. Your login is your e-mail address, same password.

Thanks again Matt for your extra assistance smile

Is it worth me sending you a PM with the new number if I can't change it this evening?

Thank you for altering the number, Matt.
The advert is now Live, and there have already been a couple of enquiries smile

I appreciate all the help you've offered thumbup

Happy to help. smile

Also, I fixed the bug in the old site so you should be able to update your details again.
