What sort of scam is in the classifieds?

Why doesn't PH remove items such as:- http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/4067696.htm

These ads are all over the classified sections. What's the scam? Sorry if the link don't work.

We do remove them constantly on a daily basis.

They usually convince you that they're out of the country and that PH is handling the sale for them, which is obviously false. Since they ask you to contact them outside of PH, we have no means to track them down or warn you that you've been in touch with a scammer.

Always use the "Contact Seller" links to inquire about an advert.

Matt, couldn't you put some software in that put a message at the start/end of every ad, that stated that ph does not handle sales on behalf of people etc?

Wouldn't that save you some work?

FYI, to me these ads are obviously a scam, but im just trying to protect others. I'm good like that. Haha....
