Beta part exchange not working
Discussion
This beta site frustrates the hell out of me. I'm on the normal "better" site, checking part exchanges on my car and all is fine.
I go get a drink. Come back and click advanced again and then the beta site opens up. From previous experience with it I know it's not going to work properly. Anyway, I check the part exchange section and low and behold, it ain't working.

Nice, nothing like prejudging us. This has been live for many months, and working well. Please take some time to play around with it before making snap judgements. What, specifically, are you trying to search part exchange for on the old site, and why does it feel like it isn't working on the new site?
It ant working because it's not working! It's not finding anything I type into the p/x section. It worked a couple of times recently when I gave it a shot but it was slow to respond so I used the original version. Now I'm being forced onto the beta site from the original site and like I say, it ain't working.
Snap judgement! Typical.
Play around with the site..no thanks as it doesn't work like it should

I don't have an add up. I've had adds before on here on the old site and it was fine. When it changed to the new site it got messed up and they refunded me. Now I'm just tying to see who is potentially interested in my type of car but I can't because p/x isn't working and it won't let me use the other version.

Please could you give me a specific example of a search which works well on the old site, with results? Then we can look at how the new site compares to it. Snap judgement! Typical.

We're trying to engage with you and to help so there is, to be completely honest, no real justification for you to come wandering in here with the attitude...
Jeez it says feedback. It doesn't say only good feed back.
I was on the old site only an hour ago and it worked ok. Read my original post!
I typed in r33, yes, fast and it brought up plenty on cars.
I go get a drink, log back onto the old site. Click advanced to access the P/x bit and I get moved to the beta site. So it give it ago, r33, no luck. I then type in yes, no luck. I then type in fast, no luck!
I'm just giving feed back on the site like the thread asks me to. If you'd like us only to post positively then don't reply with sarcastic comments without first trying it yourself.

All feedback is welcome, just give the mods / managers proper examples rather than ranting!I was on the old site only an hour ago and it worked ok. Read my original post!

This ^^^Now that you've given us an actual example of the problem you're experiencing, we can go away and test it to see if it suggests a problem which can be fixed.
Constructive feedback is always welcome (and that doesn't mean good feedback) but ranting isn't...
I'll be back in a moment once I've had a chance to take a look.
OK, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We've got a couple of examples of cars which are returned against the part exchange term R33 on the old site, but not on the new site. Techies are taking a look at why now, but shouldn't be a big issue to fix. I'll let you know on this thread when.
ETA - we'll be continuing this discussion without the contributions of the OP however. Point or not, there's no place for this sort of attitude towards fellow posters on PH.

Quick update on this - we're not going to be able to deploy a fix for this before the weekend, so we'll take off the redirect against that particular area of the old site (put in place to force some more traffic through the new site to flush out bugs just like this) until we can get the fix deployed. Should be going through at some point between now and 5pm.

He said it wasn't working and a brief explaination (no caps didn't shout) only to be told in the first reply that he had "pre-judged us" and "snap judgements" when in fact he hadn't done any such thing. He did explain his frustration so you wouldn't expect cuddly, and to be honest it looked from the off like he was having to defend himself from his second post, all for pointing out a fault. That isn't good.
I'm sorry that you feel this way. However when I got a response to my question
In the meantime he started having a pop at other people, who complained to the mods. He hasn't been banned from the whole site, just from this thread.
I can understand his frustration, which is why we tried to help constructively. The attitude is unnecessary.

So I asked again, and again nicely, for an actual example so that we could try to replicate the bug. As soon as he gave us that, we identified the issue, logged the bug and took off the redirect so that it wouldn't bother other users. In the meantime he started having a pop at other people, who complained to the mods. It's no big issue and I see it went silly but the initial responses to the OP were not in PH's usual nice a friendly manner. The OP wasn't friendly and explained his frustration more than his problem but I don't think that makes the replies justifiable.stuart said:
