Remove the sticky and let it die gracefully. There are other threads with antique stickies months old that that nobody reads any more (two on Home & Garden for example); they just take up space.
Perhaps it has an exclamation mark because science is very dull and hard, like well boring man, and so has to be whooped up a bit...
