Not a rant, perhaps just a desire to vent some frustration in the hope that minds greater than mine might think upon the issue.

Oh look a silly post and even better one where the OP has made spelling and grammar mistakes.
I've been around here long enough to know the score but my perception is that things are starting to get out of hand. There are now so many people on each sub-forum who seek to do nothing more than either pick up on spelling and grammatical errors or just purely rip into other posters it is getting very frustrating.
Okay there will always be the odd person who will highlight some spelling or grammatical error but this is now very out of hand. My example above might well be a ‘silly’ topic and the OP may have invited a little ribbing due to its nature but it is happening all the time these days. Hell I was half expecting the ABD thread to be destroyed by it, assuming that the ‘must be the first to call BS’ posters didn’t do it. Indeed credit to management for letting that thread run.
Then once they helpful people above had had their fill we have the arrival of those who seek nothing further than to discredit whatever any other poster writes or insist that the OP is lying. Okay so there are times when additional facts are required and where natural suspicion is aroused but it is so disheartening when (even as someone who has been a member and active on here for many years) you click on yet another topic where you have to get to page 2 or 3 (based on the default number of posts per page) before someone has actually posted anything that isn’t correcting spelling errors or attacking the OP’s credibility.
