Pistonheads i something i love to read when i'm out and about, on the bog or in bed. Unfortunately these places don't always have any internet access and so i was wondering if there is any way to save certain threads for offline viewing?

Now i know there isn't a feature built into the site which will enable me to do this, but surely there is some free software i can download which will do the job for me?

At the moment i'm having to save threads page by page on an iPhone which is time consuming and hard work. It would be much better if i could just store an entire thread with a click of a button.

Help would be appreciated as always.

Thanks. smile

Use 'add to reading list' in safari browser. That saves the webpage for you, (the page you are n anyway), for reading later with or without wifi. You may want to increase the posts per page if doing that though.

There are apps like 'readitlater' and so n that do offline viewing.

Hmm, that's basically what i'm doing at the moment, but on an iPhone. My posts per page are already set to the maximum as well.

Need a method which will save the entire thread all at once, because that would be so much quicker and easier. smile

You can bookmark or watch threads.

You'll see, on top of the 1st post, on the left hand side a link to 'Reply to post' and next to it is 2 icons/links for Bookmark and Watch smile

Yes but this doesn't save the thread for viewing without an internet connection. You need to be connected in order to do this i think.

Ah ok. I see what you mean.

There's plenty of apps that allow you to do that, Mr. Heretic suggested some good ones above; but there are plenty out there smile

Yep he has suggested some good ones, but they don't allow you to save the entire thread in one click. Using the methods Mr. Heretic suggested, i would have to save each page one at a time like i said. smile

You's need something at the browser end to achieve this, not PH.

I guess it could be done, technically, but the resources involved, for limited usage would not make it feasible. Especially when there are apps that provide similar functionality smile

Will have a quick look at some browser extensions today and see if i can find anything that'll be of any use to me.
