Aft'noon

After messaging a friend a link from mobile site to his mobile, he has confirmed and been able to post under my login. He created a blank topic in website feedback which he checked on PC and could see it. It has since been deleted.

This sounds like quite a serious bug?

We've just tried that here and didn't get the same issue.

Are you sure? Sure there's no possibility that he was logged in as himself, or logged in as you for some reason already?

The blank thread was in Aizle's name.

Has this not happened before on here?.

I seem to remember people being able to post under other user's accounts - possibly whilst on the mobile site.

We had an issue a few years ago where people would sometimes see "logged in as xxx" where it wasn't them, but that was caused by our cacheing, and disappeared if you hit F5. It wasn't a security issue, just a weird anomaly that we made go away. smile

This happened to me not too long ago, I posted a reply on a thread which contained a link to a thread on the mobile site. When someone clicked the link they were able to post under my username.

It happened a lot sooner than a couple of years ago. It happened in December last year and I never did get an an answer how dozens of people managed to use my login.

Tobe fair to them, they are busy. Bump this again in the morning when they might be about.

Is this not simply a case of having a password/login stored on another computer?

Nope, I had the same issue as Megaflow, I posted a link to an old thread which was on the mobile site. For some reason this allowed people to post using my username.
I think I sent Garlick a pm to make him aware?

Correct. And I didn't even post the link to the mobile site, I merely opened a link somebody else posted and it gave about 6 people my log in!

I did get a thanks from Switch asking which links I sent him. So it has been acknowledged and being looked in to.

Hi Aizle, yes we are indeed looking into this. As you can imagine it's not a quick fix and involves coordinating with our third party mobile site provider. I assure you we're on the case. smile
