Sorry to start a new thread, had I seen this one before it was closed, I'd have commented on it.

This could be one of the most frustrating things about reporting something on PH. You see something which isn't in the spirit, report it and.....nothing. Obviously, PH may decide not to act on the report for whatever reason, but if they do act then the reportee has no idea anything has been done and will most likely assume nothing has been done. From a reportee point of view, it feels very much like being totally ignored which usually gets people's backs up.

Either way, a bit of feedback would go a long way towards improving communication. smile

Surely you want feedback for the reporter, not the reportee(sic).

Guh. Yes.

Look, just consign the whole reporter/reportee thing to the great fail in the sky and we'll say no more about it.

I can understand why it must be frustrating, but to be honest we get so many reports, and our mods are volunteers as you know. If they had to explain to everybody, it'd at least double the workload.

Is this is a common thing? I'm racking my brains to think of one forum that I regularly use where you get feedback on a report; and to be honest, I can't think of one.

Have you got any examples of forums that do this?

I'm a mod on a small local site and I would probably give feedback to the reporters if need be but on a forum this size I'd say it would be rather a lot of work for nothing really.

Nope, unless the reporter asked. However, due to the size of our site I think they would struggle to miss the outcome, less than 500 members biggrin

Whilst I can see the interest I think its a bad idea, you would get people querying why certain actions were taken/not taken etc. Would lead to a load more work for the mods.

Currently I hit report and treat it as an FYI for them, they are the guys who have the tools and the mod forums to discuss and decide
