Trader authorised by PH contact via my classified ad

Evening guys,

Put my C63 AMG in the classifieds earlier today along with using the Phonesafe.

About an hour after posting, I got a call from a dealer saying they were authorised by PH to contact vendors. Apparently PH sends them emails when vehicles they are interested in get posted in the classifieds.

Is this correct? Does PH have a 'preferred' list of dealers that get a 'heads up' with contact details?

Wanted to check before mentioning the name of the dealer......

If I wanted to be hassled by traders I would have advertised the car on Auto Trader.......

Surely anyone is "authorised to contact vendors" as that's why putting a for sale advert is about, attracting buyers?

As for your comment regarding 'if I wanted trade buyers I'd have used AT' well I don't think you can either expect them not to, nor prevent trade buyers from browsing any popular sales listings?

Not got a problem with anyone contacting me trader or otherwise but was concerned that the guy frequently mentioned that they were authorised by PH and got regular emails immediately 'interesting cars' were advertised.

This is what I was concerned about. It appears underhanded by them to approach advertisers and give them the impression they are affiliated with PH.
