Distance from postcode not working

Just been trying a classified search, not to actually buy anything really just out of boredom so this isn't critical. I changed the sort to "Distance from postcode" (wasn't this previously just called location or have I gone mad?) and the order seems to be the same as the "Newest with images first" search.

Could just be me though because it keeps logging me out of the forum at random too. Suspect that it's telling me to do something more worthwhile with my time

I'm also getting this problem, looks like they've rolled out a new version of the search. It was definitely just Location before and it worked.

On the bright side you can now change the number of results per page to 100. Sweet!

What would be nice though would be to be able to remove items from the search results, so if I see a car that I'm not interested in I can remove it from the list.

You have to chose a distance from your postcode in the options box then the locations option actually works as it used to .
It's not exactly user friendly .

I'm getting this as well. Really slows down the search process!

That's strange. We did update the code last week but I'm unaware of the distance from postcode not working.

Did you supply a postcode as part of your search?

Postcode in, set to distance from postcode... Page refreshes but as above shows in order of newest first.

Safari 5.1.7, cleared cookies etc.

Try clearing your cookies. That should fix it.

Tried clearing cookies, emptying cache, resetting Safari completely... No joy

Mac OSX & Safari, latest version - whatever that is, I just keep it all up to date.

Cleared cookies and history using Safari
Cleared everything using CCleaner
Re-started laptop

Went to classifieds
Put in postcode
Put in max price
Press search
Change from newest to closest, results remain the same.

In summary - clearing cookies doesn't work.

However, as mentioned above, if I pick an actual distance from postcode it seems to work.

Although given that it only showed 2 cars within 200 miles under £1000 from my postcode I had to extend the budget a little to test. Either I live in the sticks even more than I realised or it's not showing all the results, I suspect the former though because a few more are shown if I make my pockets a bit deeper

Interesting. Sounds like a genuine bug so we'll have a look into it this week.
