7 Day ban from the Lounge

Hi Everyone,

I've received a 7 day ban from the Lounge, for 'circumnavigating' the swear filter.

I am not disputing the ban at all, if I have broken the rules, then I will serve my time. Thing is though, I honestly don't know WHERE I broke this rule?

I know I posted a new topic in the Lounge about Amazon feedback, which included quite a few swear words but I thought they were all censored out?

Could anyone explain? So I know for future posts?

If you check back on your post you will see that it some words have been censored.

i.e If you wish to use the word st in your text then type it, it will then get censored automatically anything else will look like circumnavigation.

Okay, I get it now.

I wrote the original post on another, smaller, forum that I frequent. That forum, rather than putting in the censored smiley, just changes the word to something containing numbers. For example the letter 5 for the letter S.

I then copied that post and pasted it over on to this forum to get a wider view point and that has brought over the 'filtered' version of the normal swear word!!

So even though what I actually typed out was normal swear words that would have been censored in the normal fashion, I have inadvertently landed myself with a ban!

Lesson learnt, I'll know not to do that again.

Is that right though? I've been inserting a smiley since I joined as I don't feel comfortable typing the uncensored versions of certain words. Please don't ban me for 'fessing as I didn't think I was trying to circumvent any swear filters

The main swear words are automatically picked up and out.

Just type as normal and the system will in the main sort it out.

Just don't try to swear by way of formatting etc.

Oh and just so I know for future reference, if I get an email from PistonHeads like I just have from you Big Al, can I reply to it? Or is it one of those no-reply type addresses?

And if I do reply to it, does it go straight back to whoever sent me it, or just into the main inbox of PistonHeads?
