Just wondering why the thread had to be closed rather than just banning the 3 people who were spoiling it for the rest of us?
There is no reason why the thread should have been removed. It was not offensive or breaking any rules I know of.

Have to say I agree with this.

I was enjoying looking at the pictures but a few users couldn't accept that some had different views/tastes. I doubt a thread for any other type of modification would have been treated the same way.

I never posted in the thread, and would never stance a car myslef but people get hassle for posting cars like that in the decently modified car thread, some guys tried to move them to a seperate thread and still get hassle then the thread is locked, hardly seems fair IMO.

Hate to play devils advoacate, but speed matters, not tyre stretch. Edition 38 or whatever has all the eurolook/stance/dub whatever its called you need.

Edit: Garlick said it best, PH is too against the thing in the whole, maybe when the scene has found itself and become a bit more calm then it'll be allowed here, but its too OTT right now.

This is a car forum though, why should we have to go to other sites, when football fans can come on a car site and talk about football?

SOME on PH are too against it.

The football point is a very good one, loads of people on here bh and moan about how they hate football yet there is a whole sub-forum for it on here, they don't have to go into it, and for the most part they won't. Just like those who don't like the stanced cars didn't have to go to that thread. It was one thread!

There are whole other forums dedicated to football, just like there are with "stancing" so why does there need to be a football sub-forum on here.

I like football by the way.

As I said in the actual thread, if speed matters we should lose the off roader, classics, campervan, commercials forums then. And delete the threads of anyone in readers cars who has less than 200bhp/t?

The great thing about PH is that there is such a variety on here. I'm not in the stanced scene so would not have gone into any of the club sites for it but it was nice to have a thread on here to admire an learn about the cars.
Why is the years old badly modified cars thread allowed to run if everything in it is against PH values?

Start a subforum for stancing then as it is on the whole, the negative side that most of us see, slow cars that are just about looks.

This isnt the subforum to argue it, the lords of PH have spoken, get on edition 38

Poor decision to close the discussion thread that was set up initially.I think it was the outcome that was wanted to give an excuse to close the thread.
Again a shame some terrible comments implying people were "chavs" and "not grown up" for liking a certain style.

You want PH'ers 'banned' because they disagreed with you.

The problem is that this an open series of forums, as such every thread on stancing, stretched tyres etc. ends the same way. Locked!

The problem appears to be that you are in the minority so your options are;

1. start a website of your own [not that hard _ I ran one for a while purely for sports cars with a couple of mates] _ you are in control.

2. if you are that passionate it about it, just frequent websites where this scene is accepted and enjoyed.

3. move on and try not to take it personally _ the scene is not acceptable here at this point in time so even a sub forum could well just attract detractors. Same issue _ topics will get locked.

There appears to be no regulation of the scene and like any following it is the extreme examples that attract the most attention.

I find it odd that a car based site refuses to allow discussion about a certain type of car styling, as a few voluble people don't like it. Sets an uncomfortable precedent, and just feels wrong.

I concur. If I don't like a thread I don't go on it, I won't deliberately go on it just to moan that I don't like it. rolleyes

Just to clarify to Zebra. When I said banned I just meant blocked from that thread not from PH in general. I should have made that a bit clearer in my post sorry.
As I said in the thread I'm not in the scene so have no interest setting up a site for it. I thought it did deserve to have its own thread on here where pretty much every other topic in the world is allowed its own thread.
I'm not the one and I'm guessing that other supporters of the thread were not the ones who did the reporting. I'm happy to have a logical fair debate with people and was trying to but whenever I asked a serious question none of the people making a fuss would answer it and tried to ridicule me.

So I'm assuming and correct me mods if I'm getting it wrong. The thread was shut down because the people who went into it to cause a fuss then realised they could not debate sensibly so reported the rest of us who were making sense and got it shut down?
I think it seems the consensus of this thread is that the mods got it wrong this time.
Any chance of reopening it so we can enjoy the pictures?

It wasn't the mods that closed it though. It was Garlick, and his word is final.

This is also my stance on the subject hehe

From what I have seen in my relatively short time on this site when members troll a certain thread then they are banned from posting in that thread, the god botherer one springs to mind and I know that there have been a few others. So why would it be different for this one?

As said it is down to whoever runs the site to do as they please as it is free and we can go elsewhere if we wish, but it does seem questionable to me and I'm not even really interested in the stuff.

Shame it got closed, few idiots came and ruined it by just arguing and going around in circles really.

Can we have picture only threads? I wouldn't 'stance' my own car but I still like to look into all the different corners of cars and the different scenes.

Apparently not.

You can if you want to show off your caravan, or your off roader.. But want pictures of 'stance', no chance.

Can tell what the PH staff think of this modified scene.

Read Garlick's post, carefully.

Garlick said:
This topic doesn't work on PH does it?

Some like it, some don't...but there are forums where this type of modification is celebrated and there are some where it is frowned upon/ disliked or misunderstood (whatever you want to call it) and PH is the latter in the main.

We don't stifle debate but when it goes around in circles it seems pointless us hosting it, and is why so many on a similar vein have been closed in the past.

Let's step away from the subject...too many reports for argumentative comments for us to ignore. Shame, but it always descends into chaos.
There is no PH staff/mod agenda in respect of "stance".

Perhaps we need a new subforum to get stuff like this out of the way of people that only like cars that are fit for purpose.
