I've just been hit with an advert that took me to that page. Not impressed. Well, it took me five minutes to be unimpressed.
And for the record, I'm using my "clean" browser, no dodgy search history here.

Hmm. The saga one is easily explained; the demographic of PH includes slightly older males, and anyone who sees the ads on the this thread (me included) is doing so because the advertiser has dropped a cookie looking at content in the posts.
However there are a number of categories that we should be blocking by default, and those include porn, online casino, blue pills and a couple of others, so you absolutely shouldn't be seeing that facebookofsex ad. Was it a display ad, or one of the Google text ads?

It was a banner at the top of the SP&L forum page. Weirdly, all my banners are now black and unclickable, have you killed them off? However there are a number of categories that we should be blocking by default, and those include porn, online casino, blue pills and a couple of others, so you absolutely shouldn't be seeing that facebookofsex ad. Edit: banners working now.

Possibly too late I realise, but we don't just monetise the ads you click. Very often we generate revenue just for showing the ads, and adblockers prevent us from doing this.
With my post count you probably noticed a significant drop in revenue
I tried not to intall one as I'm aware PH has to pay for it's existence somehow. I went through everything I knew to stop the smoking one, but despite going through every cookie and checking everything Google knew about me that was pretty much the only ad I got served for ages. When the campaign is over I'll uninstall it even if I do get bloody Saga adverts just because I've Googled for lawn care and garden furniture

Rather than start another thread on the ads at the top of page i would like to ask about
one that has appeared on mine.
"SPYWARE DETECTED" on your computer ,flashing on and off !
Other half of ad "MALEWARE" ..........not even spelt correctly,is this a scam infiltrating PH ?
No, not a scam. Badly designed ads, but not a scam.one that has appeared on mine.

Can we get rid of the ones that when you move the mouse to near them, take over the whole f
king page as a semi pop-up?
Yes this is happening to me too. I am guessing it is the actual ad somehow doing it....ie Australian users only. You have to click on the actual pop-up to close the ****** thing. If I run the mouse over the ad in the top right corner the pop-up sits on your screen and you are unable to get rid of it without clicking on it.
