In the absence of a seemingly functional search I wasn't able to search to see if this has already been asked, but I'm sure it has...

Why doesn't pistonheads have a functional search facility? The google one seems to throw up results in random order or fashion as far as I can tell. Is it a cost thing i.e. the volume of threads and posts would require massive hosting facilities to cope with searches?

It's because the forum has got so big, the search function times out, which breaks it after a while. To do a search type pistonheads and whatever you're looking for into google.

The advanced search was a great tool, is that gone forever as the standard search isn't very good.
